Scrambled Egg
Egg can do a lot in our body. It has lutein that's great to our eyes to prevent macular degeneration. The same nutrient we get from egg helps lower the risk of cataract. According to scientific studies, an egg has 6 grams of quality protein and 6 essential amino acids. One egg yolk has about 300 micrograms of choline which helps in regulating the brain, nervous system and cardio vascular system. Unlike what we used to hear that egg is not good to people with heart disease because regular eating of egg helps prevent blood clot, heart attacks and stroke because it contains a good fat and only 1.5 grams of saturated fat. Egg is also a good source of Vitamin D and they say that egg helps prevent breast canser.

We can do a hundred recipe for eggs. It can be mixed with other ingredients like hot dogs, ham, vegetables, potatoes and tomatoes. The most wide variety you can do is when you make it scrambled and you can make your own version of scrambled egg. Me, I always do experiment making egg recipes. Sometimes I made it full of veggies. I already tried egg with malunggay (moringa), egg with ampalaya (bitter gourd), egg with tomatoes, egg with potatoes, egg with camote (sweet potato), egg with sardines, egg with mayonnaise, egg with onion, and many more egg recipes. Egg easily adapts itself to any ingredients you mix with it. So you don't have to worry about the result of your cooking because it will surely a fine, delicious egg meal.
This recipe is a simple scrambled egg procedure. It is easy to prepare and very budget wise recipe.
Ingredients:

4 pcs. beaten eggs
4 pcs. chopped tomatoes
2 cloves minced garlic
1 chopped onion
a pinch of iodized salt


Procedure:

-Saute garlic, onion and and tomato
-Add beaten eggs and season to taste

Sunny Side Up 
Sunny side up is  the easiest way to prepare egg. You don't need to follow step-by step procedure here. Simply heat oil on a pan, add the unbeaten eggs, lower down the heat, add a pinch of salt and cover for 3 minutes. You'll now have a sunny side up egg on your break fast.

Packed with the most nutritious vegetables in the Philippines like papaya, beans,eggplant, malunggay leaves and many other vegetables. It's a vegetarian recipe with a complete nutrition content especially the malunggay leaves which known as the Philippines' miracle plant.


Ingredients:

  • 1 pc. papaya (sliced)
  • 1/4 kg. beans (sitaw)
  • 4 pcs. eggplant (chopped)
  • malunggay leaves
  • 1 pc. grated coconut (extract or coconut milk)
  • salt
  • 1 pc. chopped onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 4 g. ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce (bagoong)

Procedure:

  • Prepare the vegetables by washing thoroughly and cutting them into thin slices.
  • Saute garlic and onion
  • add the bagoong
  • cook for 5 minutes the add the papaya,eggplant, beans and the second coconut milk extract (pangalawang gata) then cover and cook for at least 5 minutes
  • Add the malunggay leaves then let it boil for another 3 minutes
  • Add the kakang gata or gist
  • let it boil for 5 minutes then remove from heat and serve with rice.

- Add pechay and seasonings.
- Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the coconut milk and let it boil for another 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat

There are varieties of lumpia like: lumpiang shanghai (ground meat), lumpiang gulay (vegetables in sauce) and lumpiang prito (fried wrapped vegetables). This article is a procedure of lumpiang prito.

Ingredients:
1/2 cabbage
1/4 kg togue
1/4 kg. beans
2 pcs. potatoes (cut into cubes)
1 pc. sayote of chayote
1 pc. carrot (sliced)
lumpia wrapper
1 tsp. iodized salt
1 chopped onion
2 cloves minced garlic
msg. (optional)
oil
For the dip sauce:
1 cup vinegar
1 chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp. iodized salt
4 g. ground black pepper
3 pcs. chopped red chili

Procedure:

-On a pan saute' garlic and onion
-Add carrots,beans,potatoes and sayote, cook for atleast 5 minutes.
-Add the cabbage and togue
-Add black pepper and other seasonings.
-Remove from heat, drain from oil and wrap with lumpia wrapper
-On a deep pan, heat a 320 ml of oil.
-Deep fry the wrapped lumpia until a brown color appears.
-Put in a strainer to drain from oil.
-Serve with a dip sauce.

Suman Malagkit


Suman is a variety of kakanin found in the Philippines. Suman is made of malagkit or glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves and gradually cooked. I love sumang malagkit so much!  

I am always craving for this kakanin as in I always go out to find a store selling suman. One day, i realized that I can also learn how to make this kind of kakanin too. 

It's not too difficult as I thought, and when I learned the procedure, i do it almost every week as long as i have time. this suman procedure is an original recipe of my 70 year old auntie, she's been cooking suman malagkit to sell for almost 40 years now. So I am very sure that this recipe is the best suman recipe you'll ever find online. This is called suman malagkit of Batangas.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg. Malagkit (glutinous rice)
  • 1/2 tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 kg white sugar
  • 500 ml of coconut milk (kakang gata)
  • banana leaves (for wrapping)
  • 1 liter water for boiling

Procedure:

  • Half cook the glutinous rice with the coconut milk until it becomes sticky then remove from heat.
  • Scoop the cooked malagkit then wrap in banana leaves.
  • Put the wrapped malagkit in a casserole with two liters of water.( Make sure to put banana leaves in the casserole before arranging or putting the wrapped malagkit inside,this is to prevent sticking the suman from the bottom of the casserole.)
  • In a medium heat,cook the suman for one hour or more. Check the tenderness every once in a while.

Ingredients:

1 kg chicken liver
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 pcs. medium sized calamanci
5 g. ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 chopped onion
msg. (optional)
Note: calamanci can be replaced by vinegar but always make a 1 is to 1/3 proportion (vinegar is always less than the soy sauce.

Procedure:

- Marinate the liver with soy sauce,calamansi or vinegar,black pepper and seasoning for about an hour.
-Saute'garlic and onion.
-Add the marinated liver
-Cook for about 20 minutes.

Now taste the best liver adobo recipe. Serve with rice.
